How Do I Find Words in Mozilla Firefox?

Searching for information on the web often leads you to a webpage you are unfamiliar with that contains large blocks of text. When you encounter a page like this, you don't want to waste time reading the whole page, you want to quickly find the relevant information. With Mozilla Firefox, you can search for words or phrases and have them highlighted on the page. This helps you scan the page for the information you want and reduces the time it takes to find the information.

Instructions

    1

Open the website or document you want to search in Firefox.

    2

Press the "Ctrl" and "F" keys simultaneously on the keyboard. This open the Firefox Find Toolbar.

    3

Type the word or phrase you want to search in the Find Toolbar's search box, then press "Enter." If you want to perform a search that is case sensitive, click the "Match Case" check box.

    4

Find the highlighted word or phrase within the document. By default, Firefox highlights one instance of the search word or phrase at a time.

    5

Click "Next" on the Find Toolbar to go to the next highlighted word or phrase.
