Create a list of interests, topics that you would be willing to write about on a regular basis.

Select a niche blogging topic from those remaining on the list and start blogging.

How to Change an AdSense Account

If you run your own website, you may be familiar with how Google AdSense can be used to help you make money. The AdSense program pays you whenever someone views or clicks a Google ad on your website. You may need to make some changes to your account at times, such as setting a new password or email address. Making changes to an AdSense account takes just a couple of clicks and can be done in a few minutes.

Instructions

Change the email address or login associated with your AdSense account by logging into the AdSense account. Click "My Account." If you see a link that reads "Edit in Google Accounts," you may change your login information. If you are using a Gmail address, you are unable to change this.

Make changes to your payee name in the event of a misspelling or a name change. Under "My Account," navigate to the "Payee Information" section. Click on "Edit Payee name." Click the button to accept the terms and conditions and enter a new payee name. From here, you may also change your address, if necessary. Click "Save."

Pick a new country as your home location by signing in to your AdSense account. Click on "Try the New AdSense Interface," located in the top corner of the screen. Enter a new password from your account by clicking the "Login Information [Edit]" link. Input your current password and type a new one. Click "Save Settings."

If you run an online business or are an affiliate marketer, Google AdWords could be the perfect tool to publicize your business or product. Your ads will display instantly to millions of potential customers and you can bring in new business within minutes for only a few cents a click.

Instructions

Go to the Google AdWords home page and click the "Start Now" button.

Choose a "Starter" or "Standard Edition" account. For the most flexibility in your Google AdWords ads, choose the standard edition.

Select the language in which you want your ads to display. Choose the language your customers are most likely to use.

Decide how targeted you want your ads to be. If you are selling worldwide (an e-book as an affiliate marketer, for example) you'll likely want to choose all countries and territories. If you are a physical business that ships throughout your country, choose your country only. If you are a local business that only sells locally, choose the customized option and your ads will only show up for customers within the geographical area you specify. Click "Continue" when you've made your choices.

Type the headline of your ad. Make this catchy, and be sure it contains the keyword phrase you want this ad to trigger. For example, if you are selling cat furniture want the ad to show up when someone enters the phrase "buy cat furniture" into Google, your headline might be "Buy Cat Furniture For Less." You have a maximum of 35 characters to create your headline, so make every word count.

Enter the first description line of your ad. You have 25 characters to give a brief description of your products. For example: "Fun Furniture For Cats."

Create the last line of your ad. You will want to entice the reader to visit your Web site so tell them to do so with an offer like "See Our Selection Here." Again, you have 25 characters so make your words count.

Add the display URL of your Web site to your AdWords ad.

Include your destination URL. This can be the same as your display URL if you want to send customers to your home page of your Web site. If you are an affiliate marketer, though, enter the link with your affiliate ID to ensure your commission should someone buy through your ad. Click "Continue."

Choose the phrases and keywords you think are most likely to trigger your ad. Your Google AdWords ad is displayed only when someone enters a search term into Google that you have specifically requested, so do some keyword research to ensure you know which phrases will work best for your product.

Enter your chosen keywords into the box provided, one per line. Beside this box you will see a link named "Advanced Option: Match Types." This shows you how to add special characters to your keywords to control how exact you want to match your keywords to an entered search term. For example: [cat furniture] will only display if someone enters that exact phrase into Google, while "cat furniture" will also show for phrases such as "buy cat furniture" or "cheap cat furniture." Leaving a keyword phrase without special characters ensures your ads will show up when any combination of a keyword phrase is entered, such as "sell cat furniture."

Add negative keywords. There may be some words or phrases that you don't want your ads to show up for. A good example of this is the word "free." You're not giving away your product so you don't want to waste time or clicks on people looking for a free ride. You can eliminate all keyword searches that contain the word "free" by entering the word with a minus sign in front of it ("-free"). Click "Continue" when you are done entering your keywords.

Choose the currency you'll use to pay for your advertising.

Select your daily Google AdWords campaign budget. This is how much you are willing to spend per day on advertising. While you don't want to set it too high and overspend, you also don't want to set it so low that your ads won't show up enough to generate business. As a starting point, try for $10 a day and lower or raise it as needed.

Choose your cost per click (CPC), or how much you are willing to pay each time someone clicks on your ad. Try entering a low number to begin with and click the "Get Estimate" button to find out if your ads will display at that price and where your ad will show in comparison to similar ads. You may have to raise your price for better positioning.

Review your ad and make sure everything is correct. Click "Continue" when you are done.

Choose whether you are a new user or have an existing Google account. Complete the following steps if you are a new user.

Enter your email address and choose a password. Then enter the security word shown and click on the "Create Account" button.

Go to your email in-box and open the confirmation email from Google. Click the activation link and sign into your new AdWords account.

Click on the link to the fields for your billing information. Your ads will not begin showing until this last step is completed.

Choose your country and time zone.

Choose your preferred payment method.

Read and agree to Google's terms of service.

Enter your credit card or bank information and your billing address.

Indicate from the options your type of business.

Click "Save" to activate your account.

Your Google AdWords account is now created and your ads will begin displaying shortly.

How to Block Specific Searches & Websites

When searching online and visiting different sites, there is likely a lot of content you would rather not see, whether it is inappropriate or dangerous to the safety of your computer. Search engines, like Yahoo!, Google or Bing, all have security settings you can use to specifically block the unwanted search results easily. Blocking sites you don't want to load, are easily restricted through the Windows controls. The instructions here mention using Vista, but you can use the steps for any operating system.

Instructions

Go to Google's homepage and sign into your account by clicking on the sign-in link on the top right of the page.

Select the Settings links on the top right side of the page and choose the Search Settings option in the drop down menu.

Scroll down the page until you see the Safe Search options.

Choose the level of strictness you want by clicking on that option. You can select moderate safety or strict safety to block the offensive results from your search.

Click the Save Preferences button on the bottom of the page to retain the changes you made.

Go to the Start menu on your toolbar and open up the Control Panel folder and click on Set Up Parental Controls under User Accounts.

Enter your administrative user information and password if you are asked for it.

Select the "On" option under Parental Controls and open the Web Filter.

Open the Block option and select the option to edit the list of blocked and allowed content.

Enter each of the URLs of the specific sites you want to block. Select block after entering each URL and click save when you are finished.

How to Make a Search Form for a Visual Basic Project

Most computer programs connected to a database file allow end users to view and manipulate data without having to interact directly with the database. In a data entry application, a search form allows the user to look for specific records in a table that matches the criteria provided. This limits the amount of data downloaded from the database and displayed on the form. The information retrieved can then be analyzed, edited, deleted or sent to the printer to produce a hard copy. To create a search form for a Visual Basic Project, the programmer must have basic knowledge in Visual Basic form design and coding, as well as database query.

Instructions

Load the Visual Basic environment from your computer by clicking "Start>Programs>Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0>Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0".

Select "Standard EXE" from the "New Project" dialog box that pops up. Click "Open" button to proceed.

Drag and drop controls from the "Toolbox" into the form to design the interface and set the individual properties afterward under the "Properties" window. A search form usually has text boxes where users type words to search against the database, labels, some command buttons, grid to display the result, and database control that links the form into the table within the database. The results are displayed based on relevancy, so the specific food is easy to find. Select quantity and size and the results are displayed. A free food journal is also provided for registered users. Import the necessary class libraries. Reading files requires the IO class library that is not automatically included. The following syntax includes libraries for reading tab delimited files:

AutoCAD Commands Tutorial

Learning the basic commands in AutoCAD is essential, as every further lesson builds upon utilizing knowledge of these basic commands. There are three different ways to enter commands in AutoCAD; however, you may find the method referenced here may be the fastest.

Since AutoCAD is used for many different design purposes, what command to begin with depends on what you are trying to draw. Sometimes you may know the length of the line or dimensions of the object you are creating; other times, you may be using AutoCAD to draw in a more "free form" style. AutoCAD allows you to create your drawing with or without knowing the exact dimensions.

Begin your drawing by selecting "format" from the drop-down menu, selecting "architectural units," and clicking on "okay." This will change the unit of measurement in your drawing from the metric system to the English system. If you forget to do this step, the program will not understand when you try to key in inches and feet.

Typing "L" then hitting the space bar or the enter key (which are interchangeable) will activate the line command. Click on the screen to mark the beginning of the line and drag the mouse in the direction that you want the line to go. Clicking on the screen will tell the program where you want the line to end. Should you know the length you want the line to be, after you have typed "L enter," type in the amount of inches or feet (example 5 feet 3 inches) and hit enter. A line reflecting that measurement will appear on the screen.

The arc command is activated when you type "A enter." Click on the screen where you want the arc to begin and end.

To draw a circle, type "C enter." Click on the screen where you want the center of the circle to be and drag the mouse outward from it to adjust the size of the circle.

A rectangle can be drawn quickly by typing "rec then enter." Its dimensions may also be typed in or the size chosen on the screen by clicking once to begin the rectangle and dragging it out to the size you want. Clicking a second time tells the program you are choosing that particular size.

Let's say you have already created a shape and you want to make a copy of it somewhere else on your drawing. To do this, use the "copy" command. First click on the object that you want to copy. Next, type in "co then enter." Click on an empty space in your drawing. Use the mouse to drag the copy of the object to where you want it. Click once to put it there.

To move an object from its original location to another spot on your drawing screen, type in "M then enter," and select the object on the screen that you want to move. After you have clicked on the object, hit enter and click on an empty space in your drawing. Use the mouse to drag the object to its new location.

Should you want to create a mirror image of an object, either below it or beside it, use the mirror command. Type "MI then enter." Use the mouse to draw a line to the side of the object that you want to mirror. AutoCAD will then ask you if you want to delete the source object. Choose yes or no.

This will speed up Searchindexer.exe as well as your computers overall performance.

Navigate your computers Internet browser to the Windows Search 4 link to download the latest version of Searchindexer.exe, if you are still experiencing problems with the program. Windows Search 4.0 is free and replaces older versions of the search program. Windows Search 4 also repairs errors and issues with past program versions. The HTML redirection method is the safest for maintaining search engine rankings and also the easiest to create. It inserts a time element and page location as an HTML instruction when the web page starts to open. Here is the code to place between the and tags: "4" is the number of seconds, which can be between "0" and "5"; "pagename,htm" is replaced with the URL of the page that you want to appear.

The simplest HTML redirection option is the 301 redirect. The 301 redirect tells the browser that the page has moved and automatically connects to the new page URL. The simplest way to implement a 301 redirect is through IIS (Internet Information Services). IIS is Microsoft's creation for Microsoft Windows.

Right click on the file or folder you want to redirect.

Select the radio button labeled "a redirection to a URL".

Enter the exact URL of the page name that will appear.

Check "The exact URL entered above" and "A permanent redirection for this resource".

Click "Apply."

How to Fix XP Blue Screen of Death

In Dantes tenth circle of Hell, unrepentant Microsoft designers eternally and unsuccessfully troubleshoot the STOP error, more commonly known as the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Here on Earth, the BSOD is only slightly less troublesome. The BSOD gets its vivid nickname from the blue background screen. On the screen, you will see a message in white letters, describing the problem. The message can be cryptic, however, and sometimes appears too briefly to be useful. In Windows XP, the BSOD can lock you into a cycle of reboots and errors, unless you know the steps to extricate yourself.

If a STOP error appears during Windows Setup, it is usually due to a faulty device driver. Bypass the error by pressing F6 when prompted at the beginning of Setup, then check for compatible drivers on the Internet.

If a STOP error appears during start-up, and Windows XP was previously running properly, it is likely due to an incompatible software application or device driver that you recently installed. Remove the device or uninstall the program, and restart your computer.

If Windows hangs during start-up, use your Windows CD to start the computer. If you need to do repairs, and you are comfortable working at the command line, enter the Recovery Console by pressing R at the Welcome to Setup screen. Type help for a list of commands.

If a STOP error appears while Windows is running, it could be caused by drivers, services or hardware problems. The text on the screen may help you pinpoint the problem.

If your computer restarts before you can read the STOP error text, view the details in the Event Log. Open Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer. In the left-hand pane, click on System Log. Filter entries to show only error events by choosing View>Filter; click the Filter tab, and clear all checkboxes except Error. Scroll through the entries to find the time and date your computer crashed, and double-click the entry.

Read the BSOD text, which might say something like, If this is the first time youve seen this Stop error screen, then an explanation and directions. Follow the instructions and see whether they correct the problem. If another BSOD appears, decode the rest of the STOP error in order to search for a solution.

Find the symbolic error name. At the top of the BSOD, under the message beginning, A problem has been detected, the symbolic error name appears in capital letters. One common symbolic error name is DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

Decode common abbreviations.

IRQL (pronounced Urkel) stands for interrupt request level.

KMODE stands for kernel mode.

PTES refers to page table entries (PTEs).

HAL stands for hardware abstraction layer.

Locate the error number. Under Technical Information, after the word STOP, you will find an error number (in hexadecimal), such as 0x0000003F. The numbers following the error number, in parentheses, are parameters.

Start your computer in Safe Mode, then search Microsofts Knowledge Base, using the symbolic error name or error number as your search term.
