If you received a parking ticket due to an expired meter or parking in a no-parking zone, it is necessary to pay the ticket in a timely fashion to avoid further charges. Many cities, including New York and Chicago, offer a five-minute grace period before issuing a citation. However, if your city does not have a ticketing grace period or you exceed the limitations of the grace period, a ticket will be issued. You have a few ways to pay a parking ticket, depending on the city where the violation occurred.
