Add Alternative Text to an Existing Image

Start Dreamweaver and open an existing document that contains an image to which you would like to apply alternative text.
2Click on the image to select it. You will know that the image is selected when you see black sizing handles surrounding the image.
3Put your cursor in the "Alt" text box in the Properties palette and type the alternative text you would like to appear for the image.

Choose the "Insert" menu and click on "Image" to open the "Select Image Source" dialog box.
5Browse your folders to find an image that you would like to add to Dreamweaver.
6Select the image and click the "OK" button to insert the image.
7Type the alternative text you would like to add to the image in the "Image Tag Accessibility Attributes" window that pops up after you have selected the file you want to include in your Dreamweaver document.
8Click the "OK" button on the "Image Tag Accessibility Attributes" dialog box to close the box and finishing importing your image with the alternative text to your Dreamweaver document.
