Instructions

    1

Log into the Publishers Marketplace website, using your username and password. If you do not have an account, click "Register Now" to set up an account.

    2

Study the homepage of the website. The menu on the left includes "Help" and "FAQ" sections, as well as a site guide. The center of the homepage includes a list of links to updated, current publishing-related news stories. The menu on the right features two search boxes: one box searches all publishing-related websites; and the other box searches the Publishers Marketplace for members.

    3

Click "Find Members" in the menu on the left to find authors, agents or editors who are also registered with Publishers Marketplace --- many of whom have full pages detailing a list of books they have written, represented or published, as well as their contact information. Enter a name in the search box; if you do not have a particular name in mind, click "Browse" to create filters and search for individuals and organizations by occupation or sales.

    4

Click "Deals" in the menu on the right to search for the latest book deals. Enter a name and/or keywords in the box and select a category for the book from the drop-down box; then, click "Search." Another option is to use the "Browse deals by month and/or year" drop-down boxes if you are not looking for a particular book.

    5

Click "Job Board" from the menu on the left to search job postings. The postings are in order of the most recent job available. Scroll down and click on a title to read the full job posting; if you are looking for a specific job, enter keywords or the title, as well as city and state, in the search boxes and click "Search."

    6

Click "Book Reviews" from the menu on the left to search for reviews of a particular book. Scroll down to browse reviews on the most recent books or use the "Sort by" drop-down box to change the dates. Enter the name of an author and/or title of a book in the search boxes on the right to find reviews for a specific book.
