How to Bypass Blocked Sites

You're at a computer at work, school or some other public place. You're trying to get to a website, but the site is telling you that you do not have access to it. That's because you're being blocked by a firewall. Especially in companies and educational institutions, Internet freedom is limited for varying reasons. You should familiarize yourself with those rules and their consequences. If you're adamant in accessing a blocked site, there's a way to bypass a firewall that is simple enough to do.

Instructions

    1

Click on the "Start" menu, "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Command Prompt" to open a blank command bar.

    2

Type "ping" (no quotation marks) in the command bar as well as the URL of the website you want to access; then hit "Enter." An example would be pingfacebook.com.

    3

Search for the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the website you just pinged in the command prompt log.

    4

Enter the IP address as it is displayed in the command prompt log into the address bar of your Web browser, and then hit "Enter."
