How to Get a Job With the NSA

The National Security Agency, or NSA, is one of America's intelligence organizations. The NSA is generally responsible for code making and breaking for information security purposes. NSA jobs are very prestigious, and competition for them has become quite competitive as more people become interested in working for homeland security organizations. If you are a U.S. citizen, you can apply for a job with the NSA.

Instructions

    1

Visit the NSA Careers website (see Resource). Click the link that says "Job Search/Apply Online" on the left side of the page.

    2

Enter keywords related to your field of expertise and press "Search." Find jobs for which you are a good fit by clicking on the links and reading the descriptions. Only consider jobs that you meet the requirements for when applying at the NSA. Because of the competition for jobs, if you don't meet the requirements you are unlikely to be hired.

    3

Press the "Apply Now" button on the page for the job you want to apply for. Press "Register Now" on the next page, and fill out all of the required information if you don't already have an account on the NSA website.

    4

Select the option for "Copy and Paste Resume Text" and click "Next." Continue filling out your contact information and other required information. Press "Save." Fill out the information on the next page, and press "Submit Final Application" when you are sure it is complete and accurate.

    5

Wait to hear back on your application. If you don't receive an offer of employment, apply again in six months. This is how long the NSA keeps resumes on file.
