How to Access Blocked Games

Game sites that offer video games or online gambling are potentially addictive and can keep an Internet user glued to the computer screen for hours. This is well known. That's why it is standard practice for universities, corporations and other organizations to block access to game sites and other objectionable content. However, there's at least one way to get around this prohibition.

Instructions

    1

Learn the concept of a proxy; it's a website that lets a user surf with anonymity. A proxy acts as a portal to the Internet while appearing as a trusted site to your Internet service provider's security mechanism.

    2

Search for proxy sites. The easiest way to do this is to enter "latest proxy sites" into Google. The list of proxy sites gets updated regularly because institutions ban them as often as they do sites that provide games or pornography.

    3

Find a proxy that you can access and that hasn't yet been blocked. That's likely to be a new proxy that that hasn't yet been added to the Internet service provider's filter table. But it's only a matter of time.

    4

Enter the URL of the blocked game site in the space provided by the proxy. Just as Google lets you enter keywords, a proxy gives you a space to enter a URL. The "http://" part of the URL is often provided by default. Click the button closest to the URL to access the desired website.

    5

Conceal your computer screen with your torso and head to prevent potential inspectors from detecting that you are breaking the online rules and surfing blocked sites.
