MySpace is a popular social networking site that allows members to interact and network with people who share similar interests and affiliations, and to meet and socialize with many different people across the globe. Since the inception of MySpace, other sites have emerged that give people the opportunity to create their own social network. Ning.com is a website that will allow you to make a website like MySpace. All you need is a free user account and you're on your way to building your own social networking site like MySpace.

Enter desired network name in "Ning Network Name" box. This will be the name that you want for your social network. Enter your desired network address prefix in the "Ning Network Address" box. Your Ning Network Address is the URL that users will type in their address bar to visit your social network site. Click "Create."
2Sign up for a free Ning account. Enter your name, email address, password of your choice, birthday and verification code. Once all fields on this page have been completed, click "Sign Up."
3Verify your email address. Log into your email account and locate the verification email from Ning.com. Click the link located inside the e-mail (or copy and paste the link into your address bar) to verify your email address.
4Describe your Ning network. You will now come to the page where you will enter information about your social network. The network name will be displayed in the fist box. You can make changes to it at this time if necessary. In the "Privacy" section, determine whether your social network will be public (it can be viewed by anyone) or private (only people who are invited can join and see it). In the "Tagline" section, enter text that you would like to be displayed in the header section of your Ning network. You can enter a subtitle, giving visitors more information on what your social network is all about. Provide a description of your social network in the "Description" box. Enter any relevant keywords in the "Keywords" box. Select your language and country. Once all of the information on this page has been entered, click "Next."
5Add features to your network, such as music, blog, chat, forum, birthdays and more. Drag the features from the left column and drop them onto the layout. You will be able to move the features around on the layout and personalize your page on this screen as well. To remove features shown on the layout, drag them over to the "Drag Here to Remove Feature" box on the left side of the screen under the "Features" column. Click "Next."
6Choose a theme for your social network. There are over 50 customizable themes to choose from. Pick a theme and personalize it by changing the text colors and the appearance of badges and media players. Click "Launch."
7Add content and photos and invite people to join your social network. You should see your social network on the page. At the top, on the green bar there are links that you can choose to add content and a profile photo and invite members.
